I do have a problem with humor based upon racial stereotypes. Usually it isn't very funny. But maybe this is a function of having grown up in an environment without much racial tension(read, the white kids were even meaner to me than everyone else). Humour can function as a way of releasing tensions about the topics it addresses.

I usually only laugh at racial humor when I see a valuable message behind it, like on Southpark, for example. I was watching the episode where the kids go to China to compete in a dodgeball tournament, and the two Asian sportscasters constantly make American jokes, like, "Hey, which American kid has the ball?" "I don't know, they all rook arike!! Ha Ha Ha!" Or, "Hey, you wanna hear my impression of an American?" "Yeah." "'Can I put this on my credit card?' Ha Ha Ha!" See, that's funny.
