I think this is a non-story. I understand what she meant and I think the media at this point is simply looking for something outrageous to report because there's absolutely nothing new to say about the Democratic primary race.
It's an interesting comment. On one level it's so loaded with racial/political dread. On another it's completely benign. But then again, we're dealing with candidates for the presidency. If you were running for president would you make any statement at all without thinking about it beforehand?
I think it's more of a threat against Bill. Bill didn't wrap up the nomination until the middle of June, RFK was killed in the middle of June... Obama is going to win and Clinton will have to climb down, either to the veep position, or just back to the senate. It'd be easier if Bill was dead.
And it's "unprecedented in history" that people have been trying to encourage someone to drop out of a race??? Is that true?
I complete agree LE, it's very much a 'nontroversy', that's why the headline is over-exaggerated. I just thought it was hilarious how I turned on the TV and saw how the pundits reacted, like "(Z)OMG did you hear that Hillary wants to kill Obama? This just in - Hillary wants to kill Obama!" Er.. thanks for the update Wolf.

This lady wants Obama and Osama dead: http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/196939.php
Yeah, in all seriousness, I think it's a plain lie to say that Clinton suggests she wants Obama knocked off.
