Not sure about the Pynchon and Joyce (though at least it's early Joyce thank God), and wasn't Dinesen a chick? You putting a chick on your list? What's up with that? And is it even a novel?
I put 'books' not 'novels.' And for that matter, Dubliners isn't a novel either. Take it off and put Ulysses if you want. They're both great.
I don't know why you hate Pynchon so much. Gravity's Rainbow is hilariously over the top and perverse. It's not his fault that people take him too seriously. The hero divines life stories from shit stains in a sewer pipe. If that isn't Buddhist what is?
I haven't even read Pynchon, I just like talking trash. All I know is that he's supposed to be pretty dense and I just wonder, aside from a few weird people, who's really going to read him? But maybe I'd be his biggest fan and I have no idea.
Hey so if it's "books" and not "novels," can I list all those rock bios I gobbled up?
