Woody Allen sounds off - New York Daily News
I do think he's wrong about thinking that he hasn't had any influence on other filmmakers, though. How about Rob Reiner (When Harry Met Sally), Stephen Frears (High Fidelity), Noah Baumbach (The Squid and the Whale), or any other filmmaker making movies featuring intelligent urban professionals talking nonstop to each other?
What about his influence on intelligent urban professionals themselves??
ReplyDeleteDecent short interview. I agree with him here: "There are always lovely things being torn down and huge, profitable things put up. I'm not against development, but I am against it when it's not a plus for the city, and the plus can't always be equated with financial profit." Our society doesn't internalize some of the most important externalities-and we pay the price for it.
